Temperatures will soar into the lower 80s on Halloween afternoon across eastern North Carolina. Southwesterly winds and more sunshine should enable most locations to break 80° by early afternoon. The chances for rain will be slim with most locations not getting any rainfall at all. A cold front will approach the area late Saturday night. An area of showers across western North Carolina Saturday afternoon will move into our area after midnight. Much cooler air can be expected on Sunday along with a chance for showers.
