An Alamance County daycare is closed after police found guns and marijuana inside while children were present.
Police say there were seven children at T's Tot's Daycare when officers knocked on the door last Saturday. Officers called the parents of the children, who picked them up while the police were still at the scene.
Graham Police Captain Jeff Pritchard says officers immediately smelled marijuana in the home, and after they asked, owner Teresa Boyd handed them four ounces of marijuana. Officers also found handguns, rifles and rounds of ammunition, along with iguana, rabbits ahd other animals running through the house.
Boyd faces felony drug charges and having guns in the reach of minors. She's free on 20-thousand dollars bond.
The State Division of Child Development has suspended Boyd's daycare license while they investigate the case. T's Tot's Daycare was inspected twice in 2006 and received a four-star rating out of five.
