Thunderstorms Swept Through Eastern Carolina Wednesday

Severe thunderstorms unleashed golf-ball size hail that pelted parts of Eastern Carolina Wednesday, along with high winds, cloud to ground lightning and heavy rains.

While a dangerous section of one storm prompted a tornado warning for Pitt County, no serious damage was reported.
