The sailing capitol of North Carolina will hear more than the waves lapping the shore Monday.

Military aircraft will be running drills near Oriental in Pamlico County Monday and Tuesday. People can expect to see more planes and hear them between 11 AM and 10 PM.

The exercise is to train Marines in Close Air Support between fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, and ground units in an urban setting. Three teams from the First Battalion, Sixth Marine Regiment, and Tactical Air Control Party at Camp Lejeune will be training.
