As the search continues for a 12-year-old scout reported missing since Saturday in Western Carolina, scouts here are talking about the skills he may be using to survive. Mike Johnson of the East Carolina Council Boy Scouts says scouts are taught how to build a temporary shelter, how to conserve heat, and how to signal in order to be rescued. He also says scouts are taught to stay put so when a rescue effort begins searchers have a basic idea of where you are. He says if you keep wandering around, it makes the search more difficult.
