A park ranger says he is hopeful that a Boy Scout missing in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains is still alive despite the freezing weather.
Twelve-year-old Michael Auberry has been missing since Saturday.
Ranger David Bauer says he's seen searches go on for more than a
week in worse weather with successful outcomes.
Bauer says the boy is dressed appropriately for the weather, and
while he may be miserable, this is "survivable."
Michael apparently wandered away from his troop after lunch.
The overnight search included tracking teams, a state Highway
Patrol helicopter and up to 70 ground searchers. About 70 searchers
are expected to be out on the mountain today.
