A North Carolina-based soldier wounded in Iraq earlier this month has died from his injuries. The Department of Defense says 20-year-old Specialist Joshua M. Boyd of Abilene, Texas, died March 14th at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was wounded March fifth when an improvised explosive device exploded near his unit in Samarra, Iraq. Boyd was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
