Interim Police Chief Has Warning For NCAA Office Pools

Greensboro's interim police chief is issuing a warning to people considering a friendly wager in their N-C-A-A tournament office pool -- don't count out North Carolina.

Tim Bellamy says people should also consider Kansas as a contender for the national championship. He says both teams are talented and have depth.

By law, office pools are a misdemeanor in North Carolina, but Bellamy says people who enter should be more concerned about the Nevada-Creighton game than a team of police officers raiding office pods. He says in his 24 years of law enforcement, he's never heard of anyone within the department trying to bust a pool.

Guilford County Assistant District Attorney Howard Neumann says he's never heard of a raid, either. He says his office would like to think it has better things to track down.
