Former Bethel Police Chief Sentenced

A former Bethel Police Chief was sentenced in federal court in Greenville Tuesday.
Reginald Roberts was sentenced to 78 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. Roberts pleaded guilty in December to distributing crack cocaine. Four other charges were dropped in his plea agreement. Roberts was arrested in October 2005 and has been behind bars since then. Those 17 or so months will count toward his sentence.
Former Bethel Police Lieutenant Jerome Cox was also charged. In February he was sentenced to 38 months in prison, five years supervised probation and was ordered to pay a fine of 3,000.
