We are gathering details on a fatal accident that claimed the life of a Gates County man.
Joseph Lilley Jr. died Tuesday after his car crashed into a canal. Published reports say the Gates County man died on Highway 158 at the Gates-Pasqoutank County line. Troopers aren't sure yet why Lilly drove off the road.
