Forbes magazine's 2007 rankings of the world's billionaires.
Jim Goodnight, 64 years-old, tops the list with an
estimated 4.5 billion dollars in holdings. He's the
co-founder of SAS Institute in Cary.
Next among North Carolinians is 74-year-old C-D Spangler Jr., a
retired banker and former president of the U-N-C system.
The third North Carolinian on the list is John Sall, another SAS
co-founder. He's listed with 2.2 billion dollars in
The final Tar Heel on the list O. Bruton Smith, the chairman of
Speedway Motorsports, at 1.6 billion dollars.
