Two Virginia Women Indicted In Greenville Shooting Death

A grand jury has indicted two Virginia women in the January shooting death of a Greenville man.

Kendra Sharelle Warfield and Johnique Danyell Thornton of Richmond, Virginia, are charged with murder in the death of Kerry Wilton Williams, who was shot and killed on January 31st outside a duplex on the city's west side.

Thornton remains jailed in Henrico County in Virginia. She fled North Carolina after the shooting, but was located in late February after officers stopped a vehicle she was traveling in for a traffic offense.

Greenville police say they plan to serve Thornton with the indictment once she is extradited.

Warfield, who's been at the Pitt County Detention Center since the shooting, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. A Henrico County jail spokesman says Thornton is scheduled to appear in court there on the same day.

Police say Williams and the two women were arguing over drugs when the shooting occurred.
