Clearing Skies Today But Very Windy
A cold front is now moving off the coast and the skies will gradual become mostly sunny. This afternoon should be pleasant with the only exception being strong westerly winds between 10-20 mph with even higher gusts.

A cold front that brought us morning clouds with scattered showers is now moving off the coast.
Expect the skies to gradually become mostly sunny with comfortable temperatures this afternoon.
As the day progresses expect the winds to increase between 10-20 mph out of the west with gusts up to 30 mph possible.
Winds along the coastal areas could gust even higher as a Gale Warning is in effect until 5pm off of Hatteras.
With lower humidity levels behind the front and gusty winds please do not schedule burns this afternoon as the threat for fire will increase greatly.
As we slide into Thursday high pressure will be over us which will decrease our winds to more normal levels, north at 5-10 mph, and we will see a very nice day.
Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday.
