Hundreds of people lined up to meet wrestler Ric Flair at the North Carolina Seafood Festival in Morehead City this weekend.

He was there promoting the North Carolina Education Lottery new "Wooooooo!" scratch-off ticket featuring him.

Lottery players can win up to 16 times on just one ticket, just like the number of Wrestling Championships Ric Flair won. There’s a top cash prize of $100,000 dollars.

Flair signed autographs for fans.

Ric Flair's as great an entertainer as any who have come from this state. Anyone who says wrestling is fake, while not wholly wrong, is closer to being wrong than right, and needs to look up "kayfabe" on Wikipedia. It's the more correct term. The more colloquial term is "staged". Match results, even title changes, are predetermined; the fights themselves more a show of acrobatic skill than raw combat ability. Flair was among the last of the bladers, guys who would cleverly cut themselves when "down" to help "sell" the viciousness of their opponent's attack. Flair was on his way out when WWE went TV-PG and blood was no longer allowed (see also Mick Foley, Terry Funk, Hardcore Holly, etc). Flair's "final match" at Wrestlemania 24 was among the best I've seen, and that and his send-off on RAW the next night was among the best TV the WWE's done. I would have been honored to have met him and had the opportunity to thank him for the 30 years he's given to entertaining the world.
