Most of the stormy weather that battered the southeast on thursday had died down before it moved into Eastern Carolina, but we did have some gusty winds to deal with yesterday. Some wonder if the winds may be responsible for this. WSKY-TV in Camden County was constructing a tower to upgrade its signal to digital when it all came tumbling down thursday morning. The tower, as well as the building housing the transmitter equipment are both total losses. The winds were fairly high at the time, but station officials say it should not have been high enough to do this. They are assuming it is a manufacturer defect, but cannot say anything more.
