Two people were struck when troopers say a teen driver slammed into a wrecker truck parked in a parking lot of a convenience store.
It happened Tuesday night just before 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Mills Road and Highway 43 near Winterville.
The Highway Patrol says Dustin Soddy was traveling west on Mills Road when he crossed the intersection, and struck a wrecker truck and the vehicle hitched to it-- which were parked in the parking lot of Hollywood Grill.
The crash caused considerable damage to the business, which is now closed.
The wrecker truck driver, Jeffery Waller, and Joey Adams were standing near the truck, when troopers say Soddy ran into it, pushing it into the two men.
All three had to be transported to the hospital.
We're told Soddy is in critical condition, while the two others were treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say they believe the 17-year-old driver fell asleep at the wheel and charges are pending after further investigation.

I have known Matt and Tasha for over 15 years. They have and will always be good parents. Dustin is a very mature and respectful young man. We should all wish for a son like him. I pray for his recovery.
My prayers are with the family and the teen. No one wants to see their baby (no matter what age) in such a bad way. God can heal all so keep the faith and know even strangers are praying for you.
