An overnight accident on Interstate 95 in Cumberland County shut down the southbound lanes early this morning.
The state Highway Patrol says a drunken driver went the wrong way on the interstate and hit an tanker truck, causing it to overturn. The driver of the tanker truck was not injured.
Investigators say the driver who caused the crash is in the hospital. There is no word on his condition. Authorities say he faces several charges, including driving while intoxicated.
All southbound lanes near the Hope Mills exit were closed to traffic. Investigators said work crews will pump a flammable liquid out of the tanker truck and into another tanker.
