The coin, honoring the Nation's first president George Washington, went into circulation Thursday. The gold-colored coin is the first in a series featuring all the presidents. Skeptics fear the coins may get a cool reception considering previous attempts at popularizing dollar coins. The government would love to make them standard, as dollar bills cost millions to make each year. We checked out several banks in the Washington area Thursday afternoon, they do not yet have the coins but they should by next week.
