On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
Snow in the Northeast and Midwest is causing problems for travelers trying to leave Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
About 60 arriving and departing flights had been canceled as of about 1:30pm, with at least another 45 flights scratched for the afternoon and evening.
Airport spokeswoman Mindy Hamlin says most of the flights were on their way to or from cities such as New York, Boston and Philadelphia, where heavy snow has kept planes on the ground.
Hamlin suggests travelers check with their airlines before coming to the airport to make sure their flight hasn’t already been delayed or canceled even if they aren’t headed north.
