Former Bethel Police Lieutenant Jerome Cox, who pled guilty last January to trafficking cocaine, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Greenville Monday.
Cox was busted in an undercover sting operation, along with former Bethel Police Chief Reginald Roberts, last year.
Monday, Cox was sentenced to 38 months and five years supervised probation and was ordered to pay a fine of $3,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Bennett says Cox will receive credit for the 13 months he has served so far.
