A Guilford County sheriff's deputy and another man were hit by shots fired in a Jamestown neighborhood. Authorities have charged a woman in connection with the incident.
Donna Bentley Jones is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault.
Jones is accused of firing a .22-caliber rifle through the front window of her house. Her neighbor and a deputy who responded to the initial report of shots being fired were wounded and a standoff began.
About 30 minutes after the shots were fired, the woman was persuaded to come out of her house by a Guilford County sheriff's captain who promised that assault teams wouldn't shoot her.
Sgt. John Henderson was shot in the leg and treated for the injury. Joseph Adeloye, 24, was shot in the chest and underwent surgery.
Investigators say they don't know why the shots were fired.
