It was not long ago that many Wilson County residents were upset about how Animal Control dealt with the county's animal cases.
But after the county commissioners met Monday, Animal Control was moved from under the county manager's office into the sheriff's office.
Wednesday, deputies began cleaning up the shelter.
Many animal advocates, like Max Fitzgerald, once opposed to animal controls operation, are on-board with this change 100%.
Wilson County Sheriff Wayne Gay says they will focus on and encourage animal adoptions.
In addition to new uniforms and paint jobs for the vehicles, there's a new name: Wilson County Animal Control is now called Wilson County Animal Enforcement.
