A Catholic group is criticizing two bloggers hired recently by Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.
The group says posts the bloggers have written elsewhere on the Internet are anti-Catholic and vulgar.
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, wants the former senator from North Carolina to fire the pair.
Donohue cites posts that the women made on blogs in the past several months in which they criticized the pope and the church for its opposition to homosexuality, abortion and contraception, sometimes using profanity.
Edwards' campaign isn't commenting, and neither are the bloggers, who were added to the campaign's payroll last week.
