Creating a healthy smile one child at a time. That was the goal at the fifth annual "Give Kids a Smile Day." The American Dental Association provided dental care for needy children across the nation and here in Eastern Carolina Friday. We stopped by a dental center in Pitt County, where over 100 children were treated by dentists volunteering their services. Health experts say poor dental care is a major problem in Eastern Carolina, due to the lack of health insurance and area dentists. Health authorities say five counties in Eastern Carolina have no dental care facilities and that the lack of dental care can lead to other medical problems.
