The snow flakes began to fly just before nine Thursday morning in Wilson, blanketing barns and homes. But, it didn't last long. Residents enjoyed just a few hours of snow cover before the rains arrived. The roadways remained mostly clear, however, as the Department of Transportation had prepared the roads with salt and continued to monitor the conditions throughout the morning. Around Wilson, the snowfall total was about one tenth of an inch.
