Auditor Finds 24 At UNC Hospitals Had Bad Social Security Numbers

The state auditor's office says two dozen employees at U-N-C Hospitals were using bad Social Security numbers.

A report released Monday says some workers were using nonexistent numbers. Others were using numbers assigned to dead people and some were using other living people's numbers. Five workers quit when questions were raised.

The auditors recommend the hospital investigate why employees were using other people's numbers.
