Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue and State Treasurer Richard Moore are nearly even in fundraising for their expected 2008 Democratic gubernatorial races.
According to campaign reports, Perdue has raised nearly one-point-one million dollars for the six months ending December 31st. Moore raised 880-thousand dollars in the same period.
As for money in the bank, Moore has two-point-six million to Perdue's two-point-five million.
Neither Moore nor Perdue have formally announced whether they are running for governor.
Among potential Republican candidates for governor, state Senator Fred Smith's campaign reported having 101-thousand dollars on hand.
