A 14-year-old boy is being held at a juvenile detention center after becoming one of Charlotte's youngest to be charged with murder.
The teen was arrested shortly before family and friends gathered
Thursday in to remember the 17-year-old victim, Keyon Demario Dial,
who was gunned down Sunday afternoon.
Authorities aren't releasing the name of the suspect, but they say he's charged with first-degree murder.
In September, police charged an 18-year-old with murder in the 2004 slaying of Olivia Sigmon, who was killed in front of her boyfriend and 11-year-old daughter during a carjacking. Although he's legally an adult now, Thomas Jamel Marcus was 15 at the time of the slaying. His older brother was also charged.
In the latest case, the 14-year-old was detained Thursday evening after he went to police headquarters for questioning. Police are looking for another suspect in the case.
