Lawmen from Wake and Pitt counties hit the Tar River Thursday searching for evidence in a crime. When it was over they had evidence. But it wasn't what they expected. The lawmen set out looking for a handgun believed to have been used in a shooting in Raleigh. Search crews used underwater cameras, magnets and divers to search for the gun. While the never found the gun, officials say they did locate a cash drawer and a wallet from robbery in Conetoe. That may now help solve a case in Edgecombe County.
