Hurricane Bill = Strong Rip Currents

By  |

Hurricane Bill may mean strong rip currents and high surf along our coast in the coming days.

The beaches were packed Tuesday in Carteret County, but that may be a different story this weekend.

Hurricane Bill is not expected to directly impact our coastline, but we could feel strong rips and high surf.

The Atlantic Beach Fire Department says they will have more lifeguards on duty, and will be prepared to close the beach for swimming if need be.

Vacationers we caught up with were well aware of this weekends possible weather.

The Atlantic Beach Fire Department advises folks headed to the beach this weekend to swim at one of the beaches staffed with lifeguards.
