Two North Johnston Students Killed In Wreck

Grief counselors are helping students at North Johnston High School come to terms with the deaths of two students killed in a head-on collision on Monday.

A friend says Nick Creech and Travis Foster were headed to their friend Reece Richardson's home Sunday to spend the night so they could get an early start on a day of hunting.

Instead, the three ended up driving on a wet road near Richardson's home. Creech and Foster were in one car, and Richardson was driving straight toward them. The vehicles collided head-on after one crossed the center line on a road adjacent to Interstate 95.

Richardson's truck burst into flames. Creech and Richardson died instantly, while Foster was badly injured and hospitalized.

The state Highway Patrol is still trying to figure out how the crash happened.
