They're supposed to help animals. Now, two former PETA workers are in court in Hertford County, charged with animal cruelty. Jury selection began Monday morning for the trial of former PETA workers Andrew Cook and Adria Joy Hinkle. Lawmen say they disposed of dead dogs and cats in a dumpster behind a shopping mall in Ahoskie in June 2005. Their indictments cover 21 counts each of animal cruelty. The two are also charged with littering and obtaining property by false pretense. The trial is expected to last a few days. We'll keep you updated.
