The Halifax County Sheriff's office has arrested a man who is wanted on a parole violation.

A deputy arrested 18-year-old Devon Everette of Seaboard. Everette's vehicle was stopped in Enfield for a seat belt violation where he gave the deputy a false name. Everette was identified as being wanted for outstanding warrants after he produced proper identification.

A search of his car found three small bags of marijuana.

Everette was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resist, delay, and obstruct an officer, and the probation violation from Northampton Co. He was held in the Halifax County Jail under no bond due to the probation violation and has a September 2 court date.

Drug offenders should be EXECUTED if they are caught twice. There is no reasons to waste valuable tent space and good bologna on unregenerate CRIMINALS. It's time to bring the GALLOWS back to the town square, and let people watch the hoodlums swing. Probation-smomation. Doesn't work. NEVER HAS, NEVER WILL. Warn them once, kill them if they do it twice. There's some CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!

OFFICER1 I agree, this system is too easy, criminals has it easier than a working family. Jail is not a punishment nor is prision. Laws need to be enforced to the fullest extent. no excuses. people may think twice if they know they cant plea bargin, or skip out with a light sentence. Hang killers, cut hands off theives, and you can imagine what I think should be done to rapest.

Since criminals no longer believe our justice system has "teeth," we are forced to enable them to repeat criminal behavior. If we had tent city prisons like Arizonia and they were forced to eat bologna sandwiches, I bet they might give pause before commiting crimes. Not in NC though. Three squares a day and AC to boot! Just disgusting the time, energy and monetary resources we spend on wayward junk.
