NAACP Wants Thorough Investigation Of Duke Case

The president of North Carolina's NAACP is urging a thorough and fair examination of the Duke
lacrosse case by the state attorney general's office.
Attorney General Roy Cooper was asked by Durham District
Attorney Mike Nifong to take over the case. Nifong already has
dropped rape charges against three lacrosse team players.
The white players still are charged with sexual assault and
kidnapping, but each has strongly proclaimed his innocence. They
are accused of attacking a black stripper hired to perform at a
team party in March.
The Reverend William Barber is president of the state chapter
of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Barber says no one knows all the facts of the case.
