The two Missouri boys found last week in a St. Louis apartment complex have sparked national headlines. Especially 15 year-old Shawn Hornebeck who, officials say went missing in 2002 when he was 11 years-old. After police found Hornebeck only sixty miles outside of his Missouri home, people began to wonder why he didn't escape sooner. Many experts say Stockholm Syndrome may have played a part. Dr. Gary Dunn, psychologist with Pitt County Memorial Hospital, says that's when hostages express loyalty to the hostage taker, even developing an emotional attachment.
