President Barack Obama says he doesn't want future generations to look back on the health care debate and say lawmakers focused on "petty politics" when they had a chance to help millions.
Nor does he want them to say Washington preserved the status quo for special interests or wasted the chance to get health care right.
As he urged Congress to send him a bill, Obama said he wants future generations to say lawmakers seized the moment and met the challenge to extend health insurance to millions of uninsured people and reduce costs for all.
Obama addressed a town hall meeting in Raleigh, N.C., about his plan to overhaul the U.S. health care system.

Are you seriously trying to use welfare as an example of a program that offers no benefit?? Just because it doesn't benefit YOU doesn't mean the program shouldn't exist. You would be glad to have it if disaster struck and you couldn't make ends meet for a while. Yes, there are lazy leeches out there milking the system for all they can, but generalizing everyone utilizing welfare as "lazy" is wrong. Not everyone can pull themselves up by the "bootstraps" which seems to be a commonly conceived idea among many people fortunate enough to be healthy and employed.
hey jaded the problem isn't the doctors and not totally the insurance companies. Its lawyers and our crooked @$$ judicial system handing out cash to the free loaders. You know what happens to a lawyer that takes viagra..He gets taller. Keep running and crying to the lawyers that is the primary reason we cannot afford anything. they are almost single handedly the reason we cannot afford groceries, medical care, utilities, vehicles and everything else.
