A boil water advisory, in place since Friday, has been lifted for Edgecombe County water customers.
The water department says all samples that were tested have come back negative for Total Coliform bacteria.
Previous Story
Customers of the Edgecombe Water & Sewer District are being told to boil their water because of the possibility of total coliform bacteria.
The bacteria was detected in water samples collected in the Highway 97/Lawrence area.
As a precaution, residents should boil all water used for human consumption, or use bottled water until further tests are complete.
Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
