Not once, but twice. That's how many times a pedestrian in New Bern was struck by vehicles Sunday night. Police say 63 year-old John Monette was crossing Glenburnie road at the intersection of Brunswick Avenue when he walked into the path of an sport utility vehicle. Police say a pick-up truck then hit Monette, but kept going. A search is on for that vehicle and driver, and charges are pending. The driver of the first vehicle will not be charged. Police say Monette was not critically injured.
