Officials say the man accused of gunning down his wife in Beaufort County Monday is now charged with an open count of murder. Police say they found 43-year-old Frank Johnson of Washington, still armed, shortly after the shooting at his home on Harrington Street in Washington. Lawmen say Johnson was found just a short distance away, close to John Cotton Tayloe School, which was put on lock down because of the shooting. The victim is 42-year-old Deneen Neals Johnson. Friends of the family say she moved out of the home in June, and lawmen say she was living in Greenville. Still no word yet on what sparked the shooting.
