Easley Education Adviser Gets Promotion

Governor Easley's senior education adviser has been named deputy state superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction. J-B Buxton's appointment is effective February First. He succeeds Janice Davis who has held the job since 2004.
Buxton finished third in the 2004 primary for superintendent.
He has worked as an education policy adviser in the White House
and served as senior education adviser to the governor since Easley
took office.
