A Rowan County couple is in jail after authorities charged them with involuntary manslaughter in the death of their 7-day-old son.
Amber Nicole Revis and Bryant Lewis Chapman were charged one month after Tanner Bryant Chapman was found dead on December 7th after spending a night in bed with the parents. The couple is in the Rowan County Detention Center under 15-thousand dollars bond.
Tanner Chapman is the second Rowan County infant to die during a 10-day span last year. Shannon Elizabeth Anderson is charged with second-degree murder in the November 30th death of her 26-day-old son. Authorities say Anderson apparently fell asleep on the couch with her child despite warnings from family members about doing so.
Social services workers say they opened a case involving Revis and Champman's child because the baby was born with drugs in his system. Revis says part of it is because she was on medication for her anxiety.
