A Greenville standoff that closed a street is over.
It's happened on Brownlea Drive, just off East 10th Street.
Police wouldn't tell residents what was going on, though a special response team deployed at the location.
A resident told WITN News that a 21-year-old man was in an armed standoff with police.
Greenville police did not release information on the standoff to WITN.
A family member tells us the man was taken to the hospital for observation.
The police action lasted about 45 minutes.

I wasn't exagerating and that driving course they take doesn't make a police officer a NASCAR driver. Too many have put their patrol car into a tree or ditch in "one" car accidents and the cause is usual excessive speed in a curve. By the way, I can fly an aircraft inverted where all my control inputs become reversed, up is down and down is up at speeds no patrol car can obtain, talk on the radio, look for other aircraft, cross check 6 instruments, dial up a frequency, and navigate all at the same time. Did I mention that my body is exposed to G forces while performing these task?

I LOVE how people OVER EXAGGERATE EVERYTHING. Cops go through an intensive driver's training course on an annual basis if not more. They have been trained to drive while talking on the radio and running lights and sirens. Other drivers can't drive let alone use the cell phone or tune in a radio station safely. Cops are more afraid of civilians driving and not knowing what to do when the lights and sirens are on. And yes, Failure to yield for emergency vehicles IS a law. So again, Move and Get Out of the Way!
