500 Camp Lejeune School Employees Face Furloughs

Teachers and staff at Camp Lejeune Schools, and those at all Department of Defense schools, face furloughs due to sequestration.

Now, U.S. Senator Kay Hagan and two colleagues have written a letter to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel asking teachers and staff at the schools be exempt from the civilian furloughs of up to five days.

A spokesman says 500 employees, including 297 teachers and counselors, would be affected at Camp Lejeune dependent schools.
