With many people traveling before the holiday weekend, weather conditions could pose problems to some. However, the rain conditions we've experienced over the past ten days should not worry travelers. The last time rain cancelled any flights out of local airports was during Hurricane Floyd. There could be some afternoon thunderstorms popping up that, depending on severity, would prompt flight delays. But with high pressure building off shore, stability in our atmosphere is rising, thereby decreasing the likelihood of severe thunderstorms. If you are flying this holiday weekend, it is recommended that you sign up for text message alerts from the airline you are flying with.

As far as road conditions, travel should be generally smooth. The roads will be dry and driving conditions will return back to normal by Wednesday evening. Drive safe and remember to designate a driver prior to partaking in holiday festivities.
