Lillington police say one person died in a house fire that another person was able to escape.
The News & Observer of Raleigh and WRAL-TV reported Sunday that firefighters found the house engulfed in flames when they arrived about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators believe that a visitor was killed while a resident escaped without injury. The victim's body has been sent to the chief medical examiner in Chapel Hill to be identified.
State and local officials are investigating the cause of the
fire.
