Jose Santos Mejia-Medina of Lenoir County went missing December 6, according to law enforcement. The Lenoir County Sheriff's Department says Jose's friend, Arturo Rivas has confessed to dumping Jose's body in a hog incinerator at the South Pork farm. Lawmen say Rivas claims he just his friend dead, panicked, and dumped his body in the incinerator. Authorities are taking every bit of evidence from the hog incinerator back with them. Authorities say Jose's wife gave them some of his DNA so they can compare the remains. If a positive identification is made, they will then try to determine the cause of death. Rivas is already in jail for failure to report a death, but more charges could follow pending the investigation.
