It is a heartwarming story of generosity from the heart during the holiday season.
The non-profit group Homes For Our Troops, broke ground for a new home near new Bern Friday. It will be given to a wounded soldier, Eric Edmundson who served in Iraq, and his family. Homes For Our Troops is building the house with donated money, materials and services from local businesses. Edmundson's father says his son is undergoing therapy and intensive medical treatment, but is currently unable to speak, eat or walk. The Edmundsons may get to move into their new home possibly as early as summer.
