Former Police Chief Pleads Guilty In Drug Case

Former Bethel Police Chief Reginald Roberts faces a maximum of forty-years in prison and a fine of $2,000,000. Roberts entered a guilty plea Monday in federal district court to distributing more than 5 grams of crack cocaine in October of 2005. As part of his plea agreement, four other charges against Roberts, including drug and weapons violations, will be dropped. He will remain in the Pitt County Jail until his sentencing in March.
