The economic crunch looks like it has nabbed another victim.

Officials with East Carolina Equipment in Kinston say the business is closing down.

A source told WITN the company was shutting down because of an issue with Kubota, one of the brands East Carolina Equipment carried.

A person at the business did confirm the shut down was connected to Kubota but did not give additional details.

All Kubota materials and tractors were hauled from the property along Highway 70 on Friday and customers were turned around.

About 15 people are employed at East Carolina Equipment and will now be out of work.

We contacted Kubota corporate headquarters in Torrence, California.

A spokeswoman told us they had no comment on the closing.
