Missing Arizona Girl Turns Up In Jacksonville, Marine Faces Charges

A Camp Lejeune Marine faces a number of charges after a 14-year-old Mesa, Arizona girl who ran away from home turned up in his home.

Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown says officers found the girl Monday night hiding in the bedroom closet of Mario Ramero.

The 20-year-old Ramero faces 25 charges, including ten counts of statutory rape, five counts of crimes against nature and ten counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He's being held in the Camp Lejeune brig.

News reports from Arizona say the girl allegedly met Ramero on MySpace.com. Another report says the girl's parents discovered their daughter was using two profiles on MySpace, one with her real information and another with fake pictures claiming she was 21.

Ramero told investigators that he became acquainted with the girl over the Internet. He says they continued to communicate by cell phone and the girl bought an airline ticket online and flew to Raleigh, where he picked her up.
